PHILADELPHIA, PA –

The Eagles dominated at FedEx field and got the help they needed from Chicago to secure the final playoff spot in the NFC.

The Eagles defense allowed just 89 yards of offense and held the Redskins to 0-9 on third down, while Nelson Agholor added a pair of touchdowns en route to a 24-0 shutout.

Nick Foles started the game with an ugly interception but followed that up with 25 consecutive completions, tying an NFL record and leading the Eagles to a 17-0 start. After taking a shot in the fourth quarter, he was replaced by Nate Sudfeld. It was reported that Foles suffered an injury to his chest, which may have carried over from the hit he took in the final drive last week via Jadeveon Clowney.

We will wait for more information to be released.

Philadelphia possessed the ball for 43:19 of game time and continuously got after Redskins quarterback Josh Johnson, collecting eight hits and four sacks in addition to six deflected passes.

With the win, Philadelphia improved to 9-7 on the season and have now won five of their last six games to end the 2018 regular season after starting 4-6.

Chicago did the Eagles a favor and took care of business in Minnesota by beating the Vikings on their home turf for the first time since 2012. With the Vikings loss, the Eagles backdoored their way into the playoff picture and will now travel to Chicago in the Wild Card Round of the NFL postseason.

The Playoff schedule has not been announced yet, but the Eagles are alive for at least one more week and will play next week. Keep it locked to our social media for scheduling announcement as well as any other information on the team.
