Draft Analysis

Joe Fabiani’s 2019 Mock Draft Analysis

1. QB KYLER MURRAY OKLAHOMA

A lot of chatter about what the Cardinals will do with this pick. However, I think Murray is their man. They add an explosive playmaker to an offense that sorely lacked an identity last season.

2. EDGE NICK BOSA OHIO STATE

Bosa could very well be the first pick in the draft. The Niners land a versatile rusher that will make an impact from day 1.

3. DT QUINNEN WILLIAMS ALABAMA

I think the Jets could trade back here. If they decide to keep the pick, they take the best player available. Williams could also end up being selected at number 1. His ability to diagnose a play and get into the backfield quickly at the DT position is not something you see a lot of.

4. EDGE JOSH ALLEN KENTUCKY

Allen improved his game every year in college. He was one of the top defenders in the country. He could be used as a Swiss Army knife in any defense.

5.LB DEVIN WHITE  LSU

Tampa lost Kwon Alexander in FA. They land the best inside linebacker in the draft here.

6. EDGE RASHAN GARY  MICHIGAN

The Giants have a lot of rebuilding to do. I think it starts where they found success years ago in their pass rush.

7. WR D.K. METCALF OLE MISS

The Jags could go with offensive line help here. However, I think they go with a big, explosive receiver for Nick Foles. Foles has shown trust in throwing the ball up to big receivers in the past.

8. DT ED OLIVER HOUSTON

The Lions add more depth on the defensive line. Oliver should provide a boost to their pass rush from the middle.

9. OL JONAH WILLIAMS ALABAMA

Williams is a versatile lineman that can play outside and inside. I think he ends up playing guard in the early part of his career.

10. OT ANDRE DILLARD WASHINGTON STATE

Denver needs offensive line help. I think with this pick they can pencil in Dillard at tackle and look to move Garett Bolles inside or vice versa.

11. LB Devin Bush Jr. MICHIGAN

The Bengals will be looking to add a future anchor of their defense. They get that with the former Michigan captain.

12. OT JAWAAN TAYLOR FLORIDA

The Packers actually have a decent stable of running backs. They may look to balance out the offense this season with Adams being the only real threat outside.

13.EDGE MONTEZ SWEAT MISSISSIPPI STATE

I think this is a dream scenario for the Dolphins. Sweat may fall due to health concerns but he’s an absolute monster.

14. EDGE BRIAN BURNS FLORIDA STATE

Burns fits that long, athletic, hybrid mold that Dan Quinn loves. The Falcons add a pass rusher to the mix.

15. TE T.J. HOCKENSON IOWA

The Redskins NEED playmakers on the offensive side. They get a guy who can step in and help not only in the passing game but in the run game as well.

16. EDGE CLELIN FERRELL CLEMSON

The Panthers need help on the defensive line. They find that here with Ferrell.

17. DT CHRISTIAN WILKINS CLEMSON

The Giants got their outside rusher earlier. They sure up the inside here with Wilkins.

18. OL GARRETT BRADBURY NC STATE

People really wanted to pile on Kirk Cousins last year but they forget that Minnesota’s line was atrocious. They start to fix that here.

19. WR Marquise Brown Oklahoma

In what looks to be a big PROVE it year for Mariota. They add another weapon on offense. Brown is electrifying in the open field.

20. CB ROCK YA-SIN  TEMPLE

YA-SIN is easily the safest pick at corner. I think Pittsburgh is a team that will love this kid.

21. CB GREEDY WILLIAMS LSU

Williams has the ideal length and speed to become a number 1 corner. After the overhaul in Seattle’s secondary, they look to create a new identity with Greedy.

22. OL CODY FORD OKLAHOMA

Baltimore will need to protect Lamar Jackson. He has all the makings of a promising guard prospect.

23. OL GREG LITTLE OLE MISS

I would not be surprised if the Texans moved up to get some line help. However, here I think Little with the right coaching can be a starting left tackle.

24.RB JOSH JACOBS ALABAMA

With Lynch set to retire, they look to add a dynamic rusher.

25. DT JEFFERY SIMMONS MISSISSIPPI STATE

Yes, Eagles fans. They did it again. I know, I know relax. Hear me out… Simmons is easily a top 5 talent in this draft. He’s an absolute stud. I do think they could look to trade back but it may be hard if this type of talent is in your lap. Just imagine a starting line of Graham, Simmons, Cox, and Barnett in 2020.

26. DT Dexter Lawrence CLEMSON

Lawrence would bring a huge boost to an already ascending defense. I think he falls this far because people have talked a lot about what he is now versus what he will be down the road.

27. CB BYRON MURPHY WASHINGTON

The Raiders add an aggressive corner to a defense looking for an identity.

28. CB DEANDRE BAKER Georgia

One word: Consistent. He won’t flash but he has good speed and plays great in press.

29. S Jonathan Abram MISSISSIPPI STATE

A big thumper. Remember Kam Chancellor? He would look good in Seattle.

30. WR A.J. BROWN OLE MISS

Great route runner. More of a slot guy right now but has the speed to play outside. Rodgers will love him after losing Randall Cobb.

31. OL CHRIS LINDSTROM BOSTON COLLEGE

With some aging vets on the line, they need to get younger. Lindstrom has the versatility they need.

32. TE NOAH FANT IOWA

Fant has all the tools to become a very good pass catching tight end. I hear the Patriots could be looking for one?
