Joe Fabiani’s 2018 Mock Draft Analysis

1. QB Sam Darnold  USC

Browns finally take a guy to lead them into the future.

2. RB Saquon Barkley Penn State

The Giants need playmakers and they land arguably the best player in the draft.

3. QB Baker Mayfield Oklahoma

His toughness and tenacity make him a perfect fit for this franchise starving for a star.

4. DE Bradley Chubb N.C. State

The Browns get a stud to put on the other side of Myles Garrett to give them a young fierce pass-rushing tandem.

5. QB Josh Allen Wyoming

The Broncos land a guy with tremendous arm talent. Elway and his crew nab their guy of the future.

6. DB Denzel Ward  Ohio State

Indy needs a lot of help but here they continue to rebuild a young secondary in grabbing the best corner in the draft.

7. OG Quenton Nelson Notre Dame

The Bucs need to surround Winston with more talent. Grabbing the best lineman in the draft helps them protect him.

8. LB Tremaine Edmunds Virginia Tech

The Bears grab a freak linebacker to pair with Leonard Floyd giving them a hell of a 1-2 punch at the position.

9. LB Roquan Smith Georgia

With the uncertainty of what will happen to Reuben Foster, the Niners grab a guy who could fill the void right away.

10. DB Derwin James  Florida State

The Raiders need more playmakers on the defensive side and James gives them that.

11. QB Josh Rosen UCLA

Miami needs to find an identity and with their young receiving core, they need a playmaking QB to take them to the next level.

12. DL Vita Vea Washington

I do think the Bills could move up or move back actually. If they stay here I think they take Vea who would be able to anchor the middle of the d-line here for the next decade.

13. DB Minkah Fitzpatrick  ALABAMA

Washington needs playmakers on both ends. However, they land a top-10 talent here.

14. WR Calvin Ridley

After releasing Nelson, the Packers need to add more fire power to the offense. They do that here in the most well-rounded receiver coming out.

15. QB Lamar Jackson Louisville

The Cardinals need a playmaking QB. They get that here with Jackson.

16. TE Hayden Hurst South Carolina

The Ravens offense has struggled tremendously the last few seasons. They land another playmaker that Joe Flacco needs.

17. DT Da’Ron Payne  Alabama

The Chargers grab the run-stuffer they sorely missed last season.

18. OG Will Hernandez  Utep

It was clear last season that Wilson needed help upfront. He gets that here.

19. WR Courtland Sutton SMU

The Cowboys have a big hole to fill after letting Dez go. They fill that need here with a big-bodied receiver.

20. DL Marcus Davenport  UTSA

The Lions get an immediate upgrade for their pass rush.

21. DL Harold Landry Boston College

The Bengals upgrade their pass rush here.

22.LB Leighton Vander Esch Boise State

The Bills add a fast and physical linebacker here.

23. LB Rashaan Evans  Alabama

It was clear that the Patriots needed linebacker and pass rushing help in the Super Bowl. They get that here.

24. WR DJ Moore Maryland

The Panthers missed Ted Ginn last year in his ability to break big plays. They get that here adding Moore.

25. C James Daniels  Iowa

The Titans add a versatile lineman to protect Mariota.

26. DT Taven Bryan Florida

The Falcons are in love with this guy. He’d be a perfect fit in their defense.

The Saints really wanted a reunion with Jimmy Graham. They get a talented kid here who can do some of the same things.

 DB Jaire Alexander Louisville

The Steelers land secondary help that could fill the void right away.

The Patriots need a replacement for Nate Solder. They get that here.

 RB Sony Michel Georgia

The Eagles add yet another dynamic weapon for their offense.
