Eagles vs. Redskins: Week 17 Predictions

The Eagles and the Redskins face off in the final regular season game of 2018. Nick Foles has rejuvenated the Eagles offense and has led them to two major victories against the Rams and Texans as the Eagles try to sneak into the playoffs. Here are the crew’s predictions for the game:

JOE FABIANI  (8-7)

The Eagles come into today’s matchup having won their last 4 out of 5 games. The Redskins, on the other hand, limp into this matchup having lost their last 4 out of 5. The Eagles have to win and let the football God’s take care of the rest. Josh Johnson will be at the helm for the Redskins. He could pose a real threat in the running game as we well know the Eagles tend to struggle with mobile quarterbacks. If they are able to contain his scrambling ability, it should allow the defensive line to get after a decimated Redskins offensive line. The Eagles must come out hungry early on and take control of the game. They cannot allow the Redskins to hang around. If the Eagles win the turnover battle and time of possession I like them big in this one.

Final Prediction: Eagles 27, Redskins 14

ERIC FENSTERMAKER  (7-8)

The Eagles defense has played much better and has helped limit and mitigate two potent offenses in back-to-back wins. The Redskins have put up exactly 16 points every game for three weeks in a row. The Redskins are a run-based offense led by Adrian Peterson and they will lean heavily on the run after the poor quarterback play of Josh Johnson recently. I think this is going to be a fairly easy victory for the Eagles, but it could be a dangerous game if they overlook the team in front of them and try to look beyond. The Eagles need to dedicate themselves to winning the matchup against the Redskins and let the chips fall as they may.

Final Prediction: Eagles 30, Redskins 17

TYLER EDGERTON (6-9)

The Eagles should have no problem handling the Redskins in the season finale. While the Eagles have been doomed by injuries and blown leads, they still have a shot. The offense led by Nick Foles has looked a lot more fluid and the defense has matched the intensity. With some help from the Bears, they can sneak into the playoffs riding a 3-game winning streak, and victories in five of their last six games. Lock it in.

Final Prediction: Eagles 30, Redskins 17
